Today we took advantage of the warmer weather here in Nashville and did a little yard work. Joleen really wanted to help, and this was her idea of helping...

While grocery shopping, he got a lot of attention from the ladies. He is a little flirt.

My adorably happy little boy.

Not only was yesterday our 4 year wedding anniversary, but it was also Johnny's six month birthday! Can you even believe our baby is already six months old!

Johnny is just the sweetest little boy. He has the most gentle disposition and rarely cries. In fact, most the time he is smiling, giggling, and making the cutest little baby noises that melt my heart and always make my eyes sting with happy tears. I just love my kids so much.

At six months, Johnny is wearing a helmet. Unlike his big sister was at this age, Johnny is a champ when it comes to sleeping. Since birth, he has always slept long stretches through the night. Unfortunately, because he loves to sleep, he developed a flat spot on the back of his head. We tried sleep positioning therapy, but sadly it didn't work, and this past week we opted for this adorable blue helmet. Hopefully is just six short months, his baby head will be nice and round and he can one day wear his hair nice and short if he wants to.

Johnny also has yet to start eating baby food. He has two little bottom teeth now, so it's time, but he just hates it. When I've tried, he looks at me like I'm trying to poison him, and then immediately spits the food right out. He's a little stinker.

I think in the next few weeks, he will be sitting up all on his own which will be awesome. He is so close, but is still a bit wobbly. I also think that by Christmas he will be crawling! He is able to roll all around, and when he gets on his tummy, he brings his little legs in and scoots himself along. I think he is in a hurry to grow up so he can play more with his big sister.

My little Jojo. Happy birthday to you, my sweet baby girl. Today you are two, and I find myself feeling very emotional and proud. The past two years have gone by way too fast. It seems like only yesterday you were just learning how to hold your tiny head up on your own, and now you are running all over the place.

Every single day spent with you is magical. You make me see life through your eyes and make me appreciate the small things like planes flying through the sky. My heart melts when you hear a plane overhead and you say, "bye bye airpane."

Talking in sentences is a new thing for you. In just the past couple of weeks, you have started to string words together. I find myself being constantly amazed with the things you know. It catches me off-guard sometimes. Like today, Johnny was wearing jammies with guitars on them, and you pointed to one and said, "papa guitar". Grandpa plays the ukulele, but for you to know that... I mean I didn't even know you knew how to say guitar!

Yesterday morning you came to wake me up and you handed me my glasses and said, "here you go mama." I put them on and you said, "pretty." I almost cried it was so cute. "Kick the ball." "Catch the ball." "I like stickers." "Where'd you go mama?" "What's that?" "I like cake." "Yummy cake." "All done." "All gone." "Bye bye pee pee!" "Bye bye poo poo!" are phrases that you like to use a lot. You are also so polite. You say "thank you" and "please" and "you're welcome" without me having to ask you to say them. That makes me super proud.

You sleep 14 hours straight, and usually take a hour to two hour nap every single day. You are just now starting to give hugs and kisses all on your own. You sing the cutest version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. You also sing your cute version of the ABCs. Your favorite shows are Yo Gabba Gabba, and Sesame Street, and you are obsessed with Elmo and Cookie Monster. Your hair is just now long enough to put into sweet little pig tails, and I always thought your hair would be straight, but you have precious little ringlet curls appearing as your hair gets longer. You love wearing your rain boots, and if I let you, you would wear them everywhere... even on a rainless 100 degree day.

I love love love you my Joleen. You bring so much happiness to me and to your family. What would my life be without you? To imagine brings painful tears to my eyes. You are truly my best little friend and my favorite girl in the whole world. The love I have for you and your brother knows no limit. Watching you grow and to be your mom has been the greatest privilege, and I'm truly so lucky to have such a beautiful daughter.
